ISO20000: Section 7.3: Supplier management

Comments:
ISO20000 assumes a three level structure when talking about suppliers; the customer(the business entity) contracts with the service provider (IT Department) who in turn contracts with the supplier.  This may be a little more complex in some outsource situations.

The document detailing the contract between the Customer[the business entity] and the Service Provider can be a formal 'service contract' or a less formal 'service level agreement'; the document detailing the contract between the Service Provider and the Supplier will be an 'underpinning contract' which will contain at least one and perhaps a number of service description and service level schedules.
